Day 1 - 12th May
Preparations were made, bags were packed, the only thing left was to fly 6 hours to shanghai.
We couldn't wait.
We left on the bus to klia.
In KLIA.
On the runway.
Waking up to a beautiful sunrise.
On the other side.
First destination. In a hurry to...
Oriental Pearl tower.
Next place, jade center.
Shanghai Old Town.
Tree.
Enjoying Chinese Ice-cream.
In KLIA.
On the runway.
Flight was at 12.30. Boarded the plane and found out that the seats in the plane was terrible, there wasn't enough leg space, seats were too small, pillows were too thin.. etc etc. Most of us couldn't sleep the entire time we were on board. After getting tired of trying to get some shut eye, I opened the window, it was 5.30 am and we saw this..
Waking up to a beautiful sunrise.
On the other side.
After checking out our luggage and hopped the tour bus and started out journey to..
First destination. In a hurry to...
Oriental Pearl tower.
It was drizzling and we were actually contemplating on whether we should spend RMB100 to go up the tower. Meh.. shouldn't have happened if you asked me. We went up anyways, had a nice view of shanghai though it was a little foggy.
Next place, jade center.
Nothing in the picture was made out of jade. FYI, nothing in the center interest us, we went out and found a bunny, which was much more entertaining.
Shanghai Old Town.
Shopping! Sort of. There were people everywhere, buying things they don't need. It's a nice place to walk around and take pictures, it's sad that my battery died on me. Didn't find anything interesting so I went out to the streets to have a walk. It'd have been nice to take pictures of the people in the alley doing their daily routines, taking care of the kids, kids playing around, people playing checkers.
It was also fun watching a foreigner bargaining with the local over a imitation of a ipod nano. Got to talk with him, found out that he was Canadian (Peter), told him that the shop owner wasn't really pleased with him. Heh. Then the idea of bargaining with the locals in English struck me. It was fun to make them think that I didn't know any Chinese. I started going into random shops asking for discount on items I do not need, slashing the price then walking away. They would then shout their best best best-est price while you're walking away. Hehe.. fun times. It was here I mastered the art of bargaining with the locals.

Tree.
People threw red ribbons with written messages up the tree, hoping that it'd come true. If you're wondering if it worked.. I'd tell you that it requires effort on your part, with or without the messages on the tree. The only plus point of doing this is for sentimental sake. I should know. :P
Enjoying Chinese Ice-cream.
Being true Malaysians that we are, we needed food at 1am (Why am I still thin?). So we went out onto the empty streets in search of local food. Had some nice dishes and finished things off with China made ice-creams which was pretty good.
That's all for what we did in day one. Below are pictures that I'd like to share out of the 14k pictures that we took, all these were taken on day 1. It'll take a while before I post Day 2, I first have to sift through the pictures taken on that day.
The hunter and the hunted and the hunter being hunted.
See no evil.
2 types of people in the world, those who are aware of things around them and those who do not.
Jotting down important advices for future references. :)
Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone does not apply here.
University Malaya.
:)
Admiration.

Watch this space, there'll be updates with tons of pictures soon. I'll break things down by day so that it doesn't get too messy.
